  • Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB)

Some families may be eligible, depending on annual income, for the Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCA) from the Ministry of Human Resources. Parents applying for assistance are asked to make their request to the Ministry as early as possible. Application information will be sent out once your child has been enrolled with Adventure Preschool. Parents must keep their account with Adventure Preschool current and up to date while waiting for government authorization. When authorization arrives at the school, the subsidy portion will be refunded to the payee. Parents receiving partial subsidies are required to pay the difference between our fee and the subsidy amount each month. It is the parent’s responsibility to reapply for their subsidy as required by the Ministry. This request must be made before the subsidy runs out.

  • Withdrawal from the Program

While we are sad to see any child leave our program, we understand that changes happen, therefor Adventure Preschool requires ONE CALENDAR MONTH’S WRITTEN NOTICE of their child’s anticipated departure from the program. Failure to give proper notice will result in full payment of fees for that calendar month.

  • Termination of Services

At their discretion, teachers may have to terminate a child from Adventure Preschool. No advanced notice is required from the preschool and will be immediate for reasons including, but not limited to:

    • Teachers, with consultation with the Board of Directors, feel the child is not ready, physically and/or emotionally for preschool.

    • Teachers, with consultation with the Board of Directors, feel that the child is putting themselves and/or others at Adventure Preschool at risk of physical and/or emotional harm

    • Teachers, with consultation with the Board of Directors, feel the child is not adequately toilet trained.

Teachers do not take the termination of a child lightly. The safety of each child is paramount to the teachers and the Board of Directors of Adventure Preschool.

  • Important Parking Info

Please be aware that we have limited parking spots within the preschool driveway. These spaces are for quick drop-off and pick-up as there is no stopping on Dewdney Trunk Road. Alternatively, there is plenty of street parking one block down on Hall St. Please DO NOT park at Kam’s Market or block any driveways including the school’s driveway. If there is not an available parking spot at the school, please DO NOT pull in.

We ask that all parents and caregivers be cautious and courteous when parking at Adventure preschool. It takes time to drop off and picks up 20 students each class. For parents with one child in the car for drop-off/pick-up, we ask that these parents park on the street to allow for parents with younger siblings to park in the school lot.

Children are not permitted to play in the parking lot. We ask that all parents or caregivers please have your child wait by your side or within the gated area at the front of the school. Please keep the gates closed at all times when entering and exiting to ensure children's safety.

Please be aware that cars are only permitted to TURN RIGHT when exiting the school. NO LEFT TURN IS PERMITTED AT ANY TIME.
