About Adventure Preschool
Adventure Preschool was founded in 1972 by Jan and Agnes Wouterloot and set up as a non-profit society in 1980. The Maple Ridge Adventure Preschool Society purchased the property as a non-profit society in 1989. As an owner, the Society was (and still is) dedicated to maintaining and upgrading the building as necessary to meet all standards set by licensing to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the children and teachers. In 1997 a new building was needed and under the direction of the then Board President, Kelly Glemnitz, and with the help of many dedicated volunteers and donations, our present building was built that summer. This new preschool is safe for all children and bright with features designed and built for child use.
Board Of Directors
Adventure Preschool is owned by the Maple Ridge Adventure Preschool Society and operates as a non-profit organization by a dedicated Board of Directors. Board members are parent representatives who have (or have had) children attending the preschool. Meetings are held monthly to ensure the continual growth and efficiency of Adventure Preschool.
The Board of Directors is elected from among the members who attend the Annual General Meeting. This meeting is held in September. We ask that the enrolling parents or caregiver attend the AGM to elect the next executive team or even stand for office yourself. Occasionally parents or caregivers are needed to volunteer to help with school parties, events, or fundraising. Your involvement at any level is greatly appreciated.
Our Teachers
Adventure Preschool has an outstanding group of educators certified in Early Childhood Education. All of our educators have multiple years of experience in child education and maintain current certifications and take workshops and seminars to stay up to learning standards. Every educator is required to have an up-to-date First Aid certification which is posted in the preschool. Your child’s care and education are of utmost importance here at Adventure Preschool and the educators strive to provide a happy, fun learning experience for each child.
